Simplification

The simplification of a matroid is obtained by deleting all loops and keeping one element from each parallel class. It is a simple matroid with the same rank and an isomorphic lattice of flats.

Loops and parallel copies do not change the normalized realization space, so several realization-space attributes of a non-simple matroid are copied from its simplification (see simple core).
